Evaluation Results of Achievements of National Corporation Osaka University

The National University Corporation Act aims to respond to public requests for education and research enhancing the level of the nation's high school education and academic research and facilitating balanced development of education and research.

National university corporations were set up under this act and the act requires national university corporations to conduct independent operations based on mid-term goals and plans in order to improve the quality of their education and research.

Considering the characteristics of university education and research, the National University Corporation Evaluation Committee at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology conducts national university corporation assessments. These assessments aim to examine achievements of mid-term goals and the plans of the corporations, thereby continuously improving the quality of universities, and achieving their social accountability. National university corporations are obliged to be reviewed in terms of their mid-term goals and plans on a yearly basis and for each mid-term goal period.
