We work on concerts that are held twice a year. One of the concerts is done jointly with other organizations. You may not have heard a male chorus before, but the music of male choruses is strong and provides a tremendous impact, rather different from a mixed chorus. Furthermore, because it's a male chorus, you may find it easier to develop your unique creativity. In addition to singing, we have a lot of events such as sport meets and exchange programs with other clubs. Beginners as well as the experienced persons are welcome. Please come to see us anytime. |

ESS members are involved in 5 types of activities: discussions, speeches, debates, dramas, and socializing. We make presentations and deliver speeches in English, improving our practical English skills. At the same time we foster logical thinking power. This may sound like a strait-laced club, but it's not true. All members are on good terms and we enjoy exchanges with many other universities. Acting is a
comprehensive art. There are different ways of expression--writing
dramas with message you want to convey, delivering lines or
communicating the feelings of players, working hard on acoustics,
illumination, and stage props. We take time completing a
drama. We're seeking new forms of drama defying conventional forms
by adopting a free approach and differing viewpoints. A drama is
an
expression of a moment. It's an ephemeral thing. That's why we are
working hard for the moment, aiming to create dramas that people will
remember
for the rest of their lives. |

Our club consists of
members from different schools. We practice for concerts that
are held regularly twice a year -- in January
and July. Training camps are held three times a year and provide an environment in which members can concentrate on practicing for our regular concerts. The camps also provide many opportunities for members to deepen friendship. We hold The Ninth Symphony Concert

play
Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and other familiar music.
We work hard at improving our skills. If you're interested, please come
and see us in the Student Union.
We take pictures according to our interests and exhibit them during university
festivals and at off-campus galleries. We have a lot of events such as
monthly meetings where we show our photos to each other. There are many
pleasant events such as camping and more so if you're interested, come

pop band and tango band. We promote exchange with guitar clubs at other
universities aggressively and have joint concerts. Individuals wishing
to start something new, those who are interested in music, and those
who want to enjoy their university life to the fullest, come join
us!
Come join us if you like
watching the night sky. We're seeking people who look up only a night
sky and don't always walk facing forward. Individuals who don't know the
constellations and other typical Earthlings are welcome.
We enjoy watching the stars on campus, have observation
sessions twice a month, and overnight trips twice a year. Why don't you
look into space using
ultrahigh-performance equipment? Our fully home-built automatic
planetarium
is on display during university festivals. We have a variety of
events. Come to BOX 5 if you like stars, enjoy looking through
telescopes, and are just a little curious.
AIESEC is the world's
largest youth-run organization. Focused on providing a platform for
youth leadership development, AIESEC offers young people the
opportunity to participate in international internships. AIESEC provides guidance for students hoping to participate in internships in companies or NGOs overseas. AIESEC also seeks out companies that will accept international interns. Therefore, our activities are not limited to the campus. For example, we conduct consultations
with students and visit companies. Additionally, we interact
with society from the students' points of
view through projects and event planning.
Members of our group
enjoy doing everything from table magic to stage magic. We work hard on
annual performances outside the university. Beginners and those
who think magic is difficult will be pleasantly pleased. Most of our members started
doing magic after they enrolled in university. In addition to magic
tricks, we have a lot of events as well as training camps. Individuals
wishing to see and do magic tricks, who want to stand on a stage, who
want to touch pigeons, who want to obtain special skills, as well as those who are
just curious, come see
us!
Our club engages in activities related to railroads such as traveling by train,
model
railway making, and photography. Participation in all of these activities is
not compulsory; you can do the activities you like. Individuals who'd
like to learn more as well as those who are interested in railways are
welcome. There are lots of interesting things to talk about. For
details on our activities,
please visit our website.
The members of our group make an
orchestra made up of 5 musical instruments: the mandolin, mandola,
mandolin cello, classic guitar, and
contrabass. Most members started playing these instruments after
enrolling in the university, so, obviously, beginners are totally
welcome. Of course, experienced persons are also welcome. Want to know
more? Please
come see us! Also come to our concerts. For details, please visit our
website.
Most of our members
started tea ceremony after entering university, so you're welcome to
join whether you've done it before or not. An instructor comes to teach
us on Saturdays. We hold a tea ceremony demonstrations once a month and
have chances to perform demonstrations outside the
university. We have a training camp in the summer holidays focusing on
practice. Other than practice, members have opportunities to learn how to
make traditional Japanese sweets
and wear the kimono. You will be exposed to Japanese culture and enjoy
changes in the seasons through tea ceremony. If you are interested,
please
come visit us in the Japanese-style room. We look forward to seeing
you.
Music is a must if you
want to enjoy university life. We have 6 to 8
live performances and 2 training camps a year and work on our music
pleasantly but seriously. We don't just play folk songs. Some of our
members have made rock bands, too. We compose some of our own music.
Therefore, the name
of
our club, folk song club, seems to have its roots in the time that
it
was founded instead of the reality of what we do. There are many different situations where we perform our
music--camping, university festivals, and daily sessions in the
club room. There are all sorts of people in our club. People who have a
good time are the winners.
Our club is very
unstructured. Viewing the beauties of nature, even during lunch time,
is soothing and enjoyable. Everyone enjoys our activities in their own
way. This
club is especially for people who like viewing things such as
mountains,
but who are not confident about their
mountain climbing. If you're interested in and care about all sorts of living
creatures -- insects, fish, birds, plants, etc. -- then come see us.
We don't just go to see
Noh performances, but we also learn how to perform and chant Noh in front of
an audience. Although all of our members start with no experience in Noh,
they find that, although Noh is a traditional art, it's not that
difficult to learn. AWAYA Akio, a professional Noh actor comes to us
to
coach us, a great way to learn! We are not a big club so
you'll get to know all the other members--that is one of our
attractions. Enjoy your
university life to the fullest in our club called, for short, "Kita-kai"?
Our original puppet troupe,
Sesekurase, is the only puppet troupe at Osaka University. We have fun
making puppet plays, starting with the script, for children. We
voluntarily do presentations at kindergartens, elementary
schools, and city halls. We receive occasional invitations from schools in
Shiga, Hyogo, or Nara as well as Osaka. Also, we participate in puppet
festivals and perform at university festivals, although not every year.
We
are a small club so we get along well. In addition
to practice and performances, we have fun. If you have no experiences as a puppeteer, don't worry. Most members learned how to do this after
enrolling in university. If you want to learn more, come see us!
We hold a summer concert
in June and a regular concert in December. In addition, we have 3
training camps and enjoy exchange with other universities, and playing
in events in local communities. In addition to music we compose, we
play classical, pops, and jazz compositions. Our members are
able to also manage studies and part-time jobs. If you join us, you'll make
friends outside of your school and university. Beginners as well
as the experienced are welcome. Come play with us!
We have study
sessions where members study about topics they
are interested in during lunch on Mondays and Wednesdays. Also
we visit ruins, ancient burial mounds, and museums in the Kansai region
every other weekend. We have a three-day trip in summer holidays and
make presentations on a theme during the university festival in
autumn. Our biggest event is the ruins survey during the spring holidays. We go
for 7 to 10 days to conduct a survey of a small burial mound and make a survey
map. The results are reported by our journal Machikane Archeology.
First of all, our club is not a religious
organization. Our club studies the Bible as a
religious and cultural book with historic value. Regardless whether
you
are familiar with the Bible or not, this is a club for anyone. Our club
is an official Osaka University group.
We are a troupe that enjoys being anything but serious. For 30 years since its foundation, students and workers
have been involving in theater. We hold a series of regular
performances and also perform irregularly. Anybody who is passionate
about acting can be part of these irregular
performances. Outside of our practice times, we have a lot of events such as cherry blossom viewing,
training camps and Japanese steamboat dishes.
We hold a welcome party
for freshmen every April. Also we have a programming workshop for
freshmen. During summer holidays, we forget about computers and go on a
trip.
We show off a
fortune-telling system programmed by freshmen during university
festivals. The above-mentioned are our annual events, but generally our
members do what they want. We also operate in groups. There are many different fields
in computer science. We have groups such as programming, 2DCG,
3DCG, making electronic devices, desktop music and members can study
what they
are interested in in groups.
Our Science Club usually
conduct experiments and electronic crafts. Different members are
interested in different science fields -- physics, chemistry, and
making electronic devices. So most of the time we don't do one thing as
a club. But when we are asked to plan scientific experiments for
children
during university festivals or outside the university, we exhibit our
experiments and electronic devices
and devise experiments for children. If you are interested in
science,
how about joining our group?
We play card
games and board games developed in Japan and elsewhere. There are many games
such as Catan and
Monopoly so you can always find something fun to play. You can
bring games that you want to play. You can belong to other clubs. An
admission charge and membership fee are not collected. Participation
fees for Icho Festival and others are collected separately. We have a
booth in which people can enjoy playing games during Icho and Machikane
festivals.
We participate in
international law mock trials which are held twice
a year, in the summer and winter. We devise an argument to win a
particular case by
reading theses and citations and practice public speaking based on the
materials. You can acquire legal and logical thinking and presentation
skills by explaining your argument to the judges logically. We hold a
workshop every week.
We
not only study international law, but also discuss international issues
using real cases. Furthermore, we hold a welcome party, participate in
university festivals, go on a trip and do more.
Osaka POST is a
newspaper club that is a member of UNN, a group that 9 Kansai universities have made. We collect information about events initiated by students and
about university sports and publish the newspapers. The benefits of joining
our club are meeting people, news gathering, and talking with
them. Those wishing to learn more about the world, those wishing to
pursue
their interests, those wishing to express their ideas, those wishing
to take pictures that will impress readers -- how about
joining the publishing world? Let's work together!
In a friendly atmosphere, we compete as to who is the fastest. People say they don't know a lot of
trivia,
but most members learn a lot of trivia after enrolling in our club.
Some
members study hard in order to perform at a top-level and
others just enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Our members get along well
together and enjoy events such as training
camp. We are involved in activities with other universities such as
Kyoto
University and Ritsumeikan University. You can make friends with
students from other universities. We are seeking new members.
Regardless of gender or year, we welcome you.
Please and help us be the first to push the button.
Chauka Chawan is a
troupe that enjoys working together. Both beginners and
experienced persons enjoy not only acting, but also seasonal events. We
hope lots of freshmen will come to see us!
We get to know Osaka and
study it. Under the motto, "Get to know Osaka. Go out and study it."
we are active in different places in Osaka. We
not only eat foods such as takoyaki
and
okonomiyaki,
but also cook them in order to discover the ideal taste
and texture. We also visit famous sightseeing
spots like Tsutenkaku and Osaka Castle in Osaka and learn about the
transportation such as the JR loop line and city subway
systems.
A cappella music is
group vocal music or singing done without instrumental accompaniment.
No instruments or money are needed so we sing songs
anytime and anywhere. We have a lot of chances to perform such as
on the street, at clubs, university festivals, and other places suitable for a live
performance. There is no limit to the number of club members. So
graduate
students,
students from other universities, and staff work together. Our group is
for people who like singing. It's a lot of fun.
Other than the
management of the Handai Gate site, making presentation and holding
Photoshop workshops, we participate in lots of things. If you want to acquire skills, especially computer
skills, please come see us.
We are
Festive
Dancers, Madani. We are dancers and are active
mainly in events in the Kansai region. We have
a small number of members, but we work hard together. We participate
in dance events with other universities so you
can make friends with students from other universities. Practice is
arranged in accordance with convenience of members. For details, please
view our website or contact us by email. You can participate in the
events you like so you can juggle practice with study and part-time
jobs. Individuals from other groups can join us. Interested persons are
encouraged to come and see our practices.
We are involved in different activities such as
campaigning for increased recovery of recyclable lunch boxes sold at
the University CO-OP, promotion of greening walls, holding workshops for
members. Additionally, we conduct cleaning events in cooperation with
local citizens. We enjoy our activities as responsible fun.
We plan the Summer
Festival from scratch. The festival is a traditional festival which is
held in July every year on the Minoh campus. The festival has an
international flavor and deep relationships with people in local
communities.
People are unified in the Bon dance in the festival. Let's enhance the
mood of this festival together. We are seeking
members from all schools. You can act as a master of ceremonies and
play
the Japanese drums, something you cannot experience in other clubs.
Other
than preparation for the summer festival, we have pleasant events such
as camp, ski trip, cherry blossom viewing. We have a lot of fun, but we get serious about festivals. Join us!
engaged in outreach activities, science cafés, and meeting where we exchange research. The basic idea is that we share and look into common problems. The sharing and discussing such things together, with our different backgrounds, differing levels of expertise, and anchored in studies in the different schools, are special characteristics of these meetings.
practicing West African dances and using west African drums in these dances. We have a lot of fun and participate in school festivals and local community events. If you think this sounds like fun, then come out and join us! Don't hesitate! You can also get an idea of what we do by visiting our website. Hope to see you soon!
